چکیده
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most common symptomatic in adults. This study assessed utility of using C-reactive protein (CRP)/albumin ratio (CAR) at diagnosis to predict mortality CVID patients. Between 2010 and 2022, hospital records follow-up cards patients with were reviewed retrospectively. Seventy-five included study. CRP 0–5 mg/L albumin 3.5–5.5 g/dL taken as references. The CAR was obtained by dividing value value. Of patients, 41 (55%) male 34 (35%) female. median age 38 (21–77) years. rate during time 20%. 41% had splenomegaly, 10.6% malignancy, 39% bronchiectasis. cut-off >2.18 (sensitivity: 88.4%, specificity: 90.1%). When classified according CAR, patient group a > 2.18 statistically significantly higher than ≤ 2.18. cheap, simple, easily calculated parameter that can

The ratio of C-Reactive protein to Prealbumin to predict the mortality in patients with acute kidney injury
Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with increased mortality of in hospital patients. Serum C reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein markedly increased within hours after infection or inflammation. The relation between inflammation and nutrition is complex. The serum chemistry marker ''prealbumin'' is recommended to assess the nutritional status. In this study, we asse...

C-Reactive Protein/Albumin Ratio Predicts 90-Day Mortality of Septic Patients
INTRODUCTION Residual inflammation at ICU discharge may have impact upon long-term mortality. However, the significance of ongoing inflammation on mortality after ICU discharge is poorly described. C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin are measured frequently in the ICU and exhibit opposing patterns during inflammation. Since infection is a potent trigger of inflammation, we hypothesized that CR...
متن کاملMortality and morbidity in common variable immunodeficiency.
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a heterogeneous group of disorders, characterized by hypogammaglobulinemia, defective specific-antibody production resulting in recurrent bacterial infections. Delay in diagnosis and inadequate treatment result in increased irreversible complications and mortality. To determine persistent morbidities, mortality rate and survival in Iranian patients wit...
متن کاملNeutrophil-to-Albumin Ratio as A Novel Predictor of Mortality in Patients with Sepsis
Background and Objective: Sepsis is a syndrome involving physiological, pathological, and biochemical abnormalities caused by infection. Very few studies have been performed to evaluate the prognostic value of the neutrophil-to-albumin ratio. The present study aimed to evaluate the neutrophil-to-albumin ratio in patients with sepsis admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Materials and Meth...
